Thanks for checking out this thread, but I should let you know this map is quite old and out-of-date. I made this map almost 6 years ago and have learned many, many things since. As such, this map will probably never see another update.
Now, I am not going anywhere, but I am finally leaving this map behind, probably for good. All the same, if you want to check out this map, feel free, but no guarantees it has aged well. However, if you need someone to play the map with, I would be more than happy to join you.
Thanks again for checking out this map - it means a lot to me.
Sincerely, cacabish.
After being inspired by Vechs (the founder of Race for Wool), Coestar, CilantroGamer, and other people who made custom Race for Wool maps, I decided to make my own custom Race for Wool Map. I hope you enjoy playing it as much as I enjoyed making it!
What is Race for Wool?
Race For Wool is a PVP (Player versus Player), PVE (Player versus Environment) map designed for 2 teams of at least 2 players on each team whose goal is to acquire pieces of colored wool from chests scattered throughout the map and place them on their team Victory Monument. The first team to place all the colored wool for their team Victory Monument wins! The chests of wool are guarded by very difficult challenges/dungeons in which the team will need to conquer in order to obtain the goal wool pieces. The map is made up of two identically, mirrored lanes separated by a central lane.
Standard Rules:
1. Find and complete your team's Victory Monument to win.
2. The goal wool blocks are found in specific chests. You may not craft them.
3. Peaceful difficulty is not allowed.
4. You may not change lanes after the game begins.
5. You may act upon the other team, but stay in your lane.
6. You may NOT destroy the other team's wool chests.
7. You may place blocks outside of your lane but you are confined to the boundaries of your lane.
8. If you fall off of the lane, whether you catch yourself or not, you must suicide into the void.
9. The map ceiling is off limits.
10. No using Ender Pearls. 11. You may not use, craft, move, or break Ender Chests.
12. You may add other rules, but these must be determined before the game begins.
Map Information:
Current Version - 1.3 (Compatible with Minecraft 1.7.10+)
Difficulty - Hard
This map was my first Race for Wool map. It involves 3 wool dungeons and 2 diamond challenges (yes, you have to work for your diamonds). The dungeons are hard and may take some time to get through. There is lots of PVP action as well!
Note: This map is long and hard. I mean that seriously. This map was not designed to be casually breezed through; quite the opposite, actually. Serious resource gathering, teamwork, and strategizing are all required to beat this map. As such, this map takes a while to beat (at least 4-6 hours) so make sure you are prepared for a long match. Do not expect this map to be like other RFW maps - this one is for those who want a serious challenge. You have been warned.

Thanks mate! I appreciate the offer and hope you enjoy the map! I wonder though, if maybe you could do some independent beta testing of Dimensional Analysis and/or To the Depths (once completed, of course) as I don't usually have adequate enough people to get, in my humble opinion, satisfactory results for the final improvements to the maps prior to release....

Sure I'll beta test, just message me when you need me to.
Is there a monument on the first map? Me and a few others played it today and we couldn't find it! :[
It should be underneath the castle. Two of the ladders go to the resources, the other two (away from the other lane) lead to the Monument. It's not very obvious apart from the signs that say "Castle Victory" but it is part of the challenge to find it!
