This looks great. For architectural details I'd play around with some buttresses and stair blocks. Especially now that stair blocks can go upside down.
I plan to when the update hits. I'm not using the snapshots due to potential bugs and lost saves.
Here is an aerial view of the city both at night and during the day. So far it has: Bathhouse, Palace, Coliseum, Tons of Homes, Three Aqueducts, Two Fountains, A Fort, and Multiple Towers along the Wall.
To be added: Bazaar, Temple, Farms, Groves, Dock, Outer Hovels/Homes, Theives Den, Quarry, Gardens.
Some updates! I changed all the wood slab door/window overhangs to trapdoors. It looks way better, in my opinion. I also added some colorful awnings and such to a number of places, giving the city a more lively feel.
I'm also working on a bazaar. It's in a separate, walled portion of the city. It has one permanent structure currently, a forge/kiln. It may house one or two more permanent buildings, but the rest will be stalls and tents.
Outside the city, along the river, lies a small farming village. They grow sugarcane and Wango Trees, providing two of the cities exports, sugar and wangos. It's mid build, working on a sugar mill, and plan to add more homes, and more sugarcane farms, as well as a Wango grove. You can also see a small dock. It will grow to include a small beacon/guard house and warehouse.
Right now i'm currently speckling in sand with the sandstone ground of the city to make it look more lived in and worn, as well, been slowly adding interiors and furnishing. I'll show a few in the next update!
This looks simply AMAZING... but maybe you could put some bridges from the ceiling of one building to the other to make it even more awesome?
Also, I think you should wait for the next update to finish this building, so you can use the new sandstone blocks!
I would give this map a 9.5/10, even that it's in progress. When you finish it, I'm sure it's going to be 10/10

Thanks! And actually, a lot of the multi-floored/tiered buildings have bridges over the alleys and streets. Hard to tell, but there are quite a few. And I do plan on waiting, heh. I really want the sandstone stairs.

And yeah, just gotta find a nice place for it. Might add it outside the first wall, and add a second wall.
