Not just today. Right now! From preliminary messing around, it looks like water connected to the edge of the map is still infinite. Cut it off though, and it will sit there like a big blue chunk of jello. Dig underneath it, and it will flow downwards.
I'm not worried about it being buggy. It's not "complete" on the ToDo list, so I'm sure that what's in /indev/ is just the work in progress. I say it's a very fine first step.
It seems that "filling lower areas" works, but where it's lacking is the "equalization of closed/uncontained water bodies."
The lag is a problem....I'm not surprised at all. We'll see.
Computers. End of story. Well actually not, but srsly, COMPUTERS

I find it hilarious (though the only way it could be avoided would be halfblocks of water, still not perfect and probably complicated) That a puddle is a meter thick slab of solid water... xD Although, with half blocks of water, an adjacent block could turn into a half water, and the empty space could do the same, which would help a bit...

Finite water makes me happy :tongue.gif:
Then i dug holes all over with tunnels and hooking caverns and making the caverns. Then i opened up the water
I had HUGE lag then it stoped and the lake drained :tongue.gif:
Also, 1111th post. Yay!

And wow, it does get very laggy when large amounts of water are involved. Hopefully Notch will be able to work some wizardry to fix this.

Of course, that doesn't subtract from the awesomeness one bit. =D
